A boost for the All Blacks depth at lock as coach Scott Robertson prepares for the Rugby Championship starting next month

Sam Darry is expected to play his first game of the year at any level for Canterbury in their NPC season opener against Wellington next weekend.

The 25 year old required shoulder surgery after an injury at preseason training with the Blues.

Darry says he's been given the green light - and he's under no minutes restrictions.
