    Police have put the warning out about a man who hasn't returned to custody in Auckland for a week


    56 year old Dean Shedden failed to return to Mount Eden Prison last Friday.

    He was put on temporary bail for compassionate grounds.

    Police have been checking known properties, but believe he's trying to evade police.

    It comes days after police were criticised for not informing the public fast enough about another offender who escaped on a hospital escort.
