Mobil is rolling out a new self-service brand, following a similar move by Z Energy earlier this year

Fourteen Mobil petrol stations in Auckland, Christchurch, Tauranga, Hastings and Masterton will become Mobil Express stations.

Mobil says the stations will offer the same range of fuels, with competitive pricing.

It plans to convert other stations to the brand next year.

Rival Z Energy converted 25 Z and Caltex sites to unstaffed self-service U-GO petrol stations earlier this year - a change its parent company Ampol has also been making in Australia.
