The Whangarei District Council says a slip on Helena Bay Hill could take anywhere between eight and 12 weeks to clear

The Whangarei District Council says a slip on Helena Bay Hill could take anywhere between eight and 12 weeks to clear

The Russell Road slip blocks public access to Helena Bay, Oakura and the northern part of the district on the east coast - including the Whangaruru Peninsula.

It's estimated the slip will require the removal of between 50 to 100 thousand cubic metres of material.
