    Otorohanga and Tairawhiti are in the path of bad weather this weekend


    Flooding has killed one in Otorohanga after a man's car was submerged on State Highway 39.

    The area is under a State of Emergency.

    About 80 people have been evacuated to churches and marae in Otorohanga.

    In Tairawhiti residents are preparing for heavy rain and wind amid MetService warnings.

    Gisborne Mayor Rehette Stoltz says people shouldn't be out on the roads.

    She says people shouldn't drive but if they need to they should drive to the conditions.
