A Police hunt is in full swing - after four were injured - one critically - in a Christchurch altercation last night

Emergency services were called to Hoani Street in Northcote around 9.30.

One person is in critical condition, and another with serious injuries.

Canterbury District Commander Superintendent Tony Hill says they're working at speed to find those involved.

He says they believe the parties involved are known to each other - and the risk to the wider public is minimal.

Cordons remain in place while a scene examination is carried out.
