    A person who was attacked in a robbery at a Papatoetoe jewellery store is in hospital with serious injuries


    The shop owner was reportedly hit in the head with a hammer three times and attacked with a knife.

    Police were called to the incident at the Kolmar Road store around 5.45pm.

    The Eagle helicopter hovered overhead, however the offenders left in a vehicle prior to Eagle's arrival and haven't been found.

    Enquiries are ongoing to find them and their vehicle.
