A Wellington lawyer says the decision to grant lawyers name suppression sets legal precedent

The Court of Appeal's allowed name suppression for two lawyers who represented the Christchurch mosque shooter last year - in an appeal of his conviction and sentence.
They'd argued being connected to him put their safety at risk.
Barrister Graeme Edgeler says societal changes and the rise of the internet seems to have given the public more power to make these threats.
He says it's not overly surprising given these types of threats seem to be becoming more common.
