A heavy armed police presence in Wellington's Makara last night, after five people were arrested following reports a person was threatened with a firearm

A heavy armed police presence in Wellington's Makara last night, after five people were arrested following reports a person was threatened with a firearm

Officers were sent to the home yesterday afternoon, and cordons were put in place on Makara Road.

Police say three people were arrested as they left the property in a vehicle and two others fled on foot before being caught.

Police are still working to establish what happened, but it seems those involved know each other.

Nobody was injured, and so far no charges have been laid.
