A jury's seen footage of the moment a 16-year-old boy was fatally stabbed at Dunedin's bus hub

The 14-year-old accused of murdering Enere McLaren-Taana on Great King Street last May has pleaded not guilty - claiming self-defence.

A jury's seen multiple CCTV and cellphone camera angles of the moment, showing the accused exiting a bus, and speaking with the victim.

It escalates into a physical altercation in the middle of the road.

The pair tumble to the ground, with a shiny object tossed to the sidewalk - before someone yells a person had been stabbed. The trial's set for three weeks.
