Chloe Sevigny has apologised for her "lapse in judgement" after posing for photos with Marilyn Manson

The Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story actress had taken to Instagram to share photos of herself, husband Sinisa Mackovic, director Jonas Akerlund and the disgraced rocker - who has denied multiple claims of sexual abuse from a number of women - but deleted them following a backlash from fans

According to The Daily Beast, another photo showed Chloe, 50, appearing to lick Manson's face.

After deleting the pictures, shocked fans commented on some of her other posts to dec lare themselves "disappointed" and vowing to unfollow the actress.

Chloe later apologised as she replied to one such comment which appears to have now been deleted.

She wrote: " "I'm truly sorry - you're absolutely right. We unexpectedly ran into MM and Jonas in the lobby of a hotel.

"We're both fans of Jonas as both a musician and a filmmaker, and in the moment, I wasn't thinking clearly. I'd had too much to drink and didn't consider how inappropriate or hurtful it might be to be photographed with MM.

"I deeply regret the lapse in judgment."

Manson - whose real name is Brian Warner - has had a number of lawsuits brought against him over allegations of sexual abuse, but none have yet made it to court.

And in January, Los Angeles District Attorney Nathan Hochman announced his office will not be pursuing charges following a four-year investigation as they "cannot prove" the abuse allegations "beyond a reasonable doubt" and other claims exceeded the statute of limitations.

The DA said in a statement: "We have determined that allegations of domestic violence fall outside of the statute of limitations, and we cannot prove charges of sexual assault beyond a reasonable doubt.

"We recognise and applaud the courage and resilience of the women who came forward to make reports and share their experiences, and we thank them for their cooperation and patience with the investigation.

"While we are unable to bring charges in this matter, we recognise that the strong advocacy of the women involved has helped bring greater awareness to the challenges faced by survivors of domestic abuse and sexual assault."

Among those to make allegations against the Rock is Dead hitmaker are his former fiancee Evan Rachel Wood, Game of Thrones actress Esme Bianco, and model Ashley Smithline.
