Isla Fisher has undergone a "really challenging time" amid her divorce from Sacha Baron Cohen

The Now You See Me Now You Don't actress - who split from actor Sacha, the father of her three children, in 2024 after more than 23 years together - has told how going through a divorce feels like "a different grief", but she has enjoyed "creating a new identity" following the breakdown of her marriage.

She told NewBeauty Magazine: "I'm not going to lie ... it has been a really challenging time.

"I definitely feel like there's something about the divorce club that anyone in it understands in a way other people don't. It's a different grief.

"I feel like creating a new identity after your divorce is so fun, though.

"You get to reflect on your values and goals, explore new interests, focus on what you want and rebuild your sense of self."

Isla admitted there have been "lots of positives" to come from her divorce.

It has given her the chance to revisit passions she enjoyed when she was a youngster, and it has been "really exciting" reconnecting with people who weren't at "the forefront" during her marriage.

She said: "It's a lot like that, reconnecting to maybe passions you had when you were a kid, but they fell by the wayside when you were raising a family.

"All the relationships that you have in your life that were not necessarily the forefront of the way that you spend your time, because you're married.

"Those relationships that are so supportive and brilliant and often really, really old get to retake centre stage. I think that's a really exciting thing."

The 49-year-old star is also trying to "be kind" to herself and give herself some "grace" when she can.

Earlier this month, Isla told how she found it "challenging but deeply rewarding" rebuilding her life after her divorce.

She told the new issue of Elle Decoration magazine: "Trying to create a new life from a grassroots level, at least emotionally, has been challenging, but deeply rewarding. I'm enjoying this new version of my life. I don't need to party in my house anymore. I love to get in the bath. I'll light some candles, bring in my laptop and put on something on Netflix. That's as exciting as it gets."
