Police are "committed to investigating" Tara Reid's claims she was "drugged" at a hotel bar and "completely blacked out" for hours

The 50-year-old star has alleged she "completely blacked out" after having a drink with a stranger at the DoubleTree Hotel in Rosemont near Chicago, before being taken out on a stretcher.

In a statement to PEOPLE, the Rosemont Public Safety Department said: "The Rosemont Public Safety Department understands the severity of the allegations being reported and are committed to investigating this incident fully.

"At this point, we are in communication with the hotel to gather as much video surveillance as possible.

"As this incident has just been reported and is still open, no further information is available at this time."

In footage obtained by TMZ from Sunday (23.11.25) night, the American Pie actress was speaking incoherently and seemed to slip off a wheelchair in the lobby.

She was helped back into the chair, before paramedics led her away on a stretcher.

In a police report filed with the Rosemont Police Department, Reid said she was in the lobby with "a bunch of" YouTubers, and "the whole thing felt suspicious" as most of them had "their phones out".

In the report, she alleged that after stepping outside with one of the men, she returned to find "a napkin over my drink".

She told officers: "Then the last thing I remember was drinking that drink and seeing a couple sitting next to us.

"The next thing I remember was waking up in the hospital around eight hours or more later not knowing where I was or anything that happened.

"I completely blacked out with no recollection of anything."

Reid has alleged that the influencer she met sent her footage from the fallout the following day, which she took as an extortion attempt.

She claimed he told her he "could stop the videos going out", while he confirmed she only had one drink of wine during their time together.

She added: "I am willing to prosecute."
