    Our 10 best Christmas recipes

Christmas is around the corner and we have plenty of delicious ideas whether you're hosting or bringing dessert.

Christmas is around the corner and we have plenty of delicious ideas, whether you're hosting or bringing dessert.

Scroll on for seafood and vegetarian mains, a fast potato salad and classic summer desserts.

    Impressive mains

By Julia Busuttil Nishimura, the spiced maple glaze is made out of pantry ingredients. Don't skip the peach relish. It takes 10 minutes to make and is a sweet accompaniment to the classic Christmas ham.

Add seafood to your festive table with this easy one-tray recipe that includes roasted vegetables. Salmon fillets are brushed with a honey and mustard mixture and topped with a crunchy pistachio crumb in this recipe from Lina Jebeile.

This fun vegetarian main takes inspiration from Christmas ham. Hetty Lui McKinnon uses a roasted butternut pumpkin, which is scored, glazed and roasted alongside garlic, potatoes and red onion.

    Salads and sides

It's the season for potato salad and this one is ready in 30 minutes. By Clementine Day, it's creamy and punchy thanks to the inclusion of mustards and pickled onions.

A simple green salad can be a welcome and fresh addition to a festive table. This one is brought together by a vibrant seeded mustard vinaigrette by Stephanie Alexander.

This pasta salad can be a side and a substantial option for vegetarians. From Heidi Sze, it's packed with seasonal veggies including slow-roasted cherry tomatoes and corn. Feta or goats cheese adds creaminess.

    Desserts and Christmas baking

Clementine Day's pavlova recipe includes tips and tricks for first-timers. Once baked, it's a blank canvas that can be topped with whipped cream and your favourite summer fruit.

This Christmas trifle from Julia Busuttil Nishimura is easier than it looks. A store-bought Italian pandoro takes the place of sponge cake and a quick ricotta cream replaces the traditional custard. A green tea jelly keeps it refreshing and light.

Tiramisu is a popular dessert that's easy to prep in advance. Alice Zaslavsky adds an Australian twist to this Italian dessert with ground wattleseed, which can be found at specialty stores and online.

These gingerbread men are extra special as they're filled with delicious spreads, from jam to choc-hazelnut spread. Ella Rossanis is behind this playful recipe, which can be great for gifting.
