Gloria Estefan is "very worried" about the recent unrest in America

The 68-year-old singer voiced her concerns about the unrest in the country, after winning the Grammy Award for Best Tropical Latin album for Raíces.

Speaking backstage at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles on Sunday (01.02.26), the chart-topping star - who was born in Havana, Cuba, before leaving for a new life in the US - said: "I don't think anyone would say we want a free-for-all at the border. But what is happening is not at all criminals being arrested.

"These are people that have families that have contributed to this country for decades. Little children, there's hundreds of children in detention centres. It's inhumane."

Earlier in the evening, Kehlani encouraged other artists to "speak out against what's going on" in the US.

The 30-year-old singer addressed the issue after winning the Grammy for Best R and B performance for Folded, her hit single.

She told the crowd: "What I wanna make sure that I say is that everybody is so powerful in this room ... and together, we're stronger in numbers to speak against all the injustice going on in the world right now.

"So instead of letting it be just a couple of you here and there, I hope everybody's inspired to join together as a community of artists and speak out against what's going on.

"I'm gonna leave this and say, f*** ICE."

Kehlani also outlined her stance on the red carpet before the ceremony.

The singer - who wore an "ICE out" pin on her outfit - told The Hollywood Reporter: "I really wanted to say 'f*** ICE,' but I think they needed some 'couth' or something on the carpet.

"I'm a little couthless, ruthless. But I think everybody, we're too powerful of a group to all be in the room at the same time and not make some kind of statement in our country. It's brainless to me."
