Snoop Dogg had an unexpected moment in Livigno, Italy, this week after his payment failed at a local restaurant - and he later repaid the gesture with Olympic tickets

The rapper, 54, ordered a cheeseburger, chicken wings, chicken nuggets and french fries for takeout from Cronox, according to the owner's daughter, Sofia Valmadre.

When staff attempted to run his card, the transaction didn't go through. Valmadre said her family told Snoop's team not to worry about the bill.

Sofia told NBC: "He sent his staff to take it and pay, but they couldn't pay. I don't know why, it wasn't going.

"So my mother told him that it was okay [to take the food] without paying. Today, he sent us five tickets to see the final."

Snoop has been in Italy working as a special correspondent for the Winter Olympics, where he has taken part in several on camera activities.

Speaking to the Today show, he said he tried ice sports, including bobsledding, for the first time during filming.

He said: "That was my first time ever doing something like that on ice.

"I'd do it again... I would never do bobsledding again. That's just not me."

The Gin and Juice hitmaker has also been spotted meeting other celebrities during his time at the Games, including actor Stanley Tucci, whom he joined for a drink at a local bar.

Snoop said he sees his role at the Olympics as an opportunity to highlight unity and positivity.

He said: "I am the love vessel right now, and I love that I am the peace messenger.

"It's about bringing the world together to celebrate sports and unity."
