Severe weather has impacted the housing market

The latest REINZ outlook shows sales counts across the country were particularly low for January, down 44 percent month-on-month.

ASB senior economist Kim Mundy says it does usually slow down - but this year, some people literally couldn't get out.

She says weather can impact the market quite a bit, in terms of people going to open homes, which can delay sales.
