A post-mortem examination will take place today on a man fatally shot north of Auckland

A post-mortem examination will take place today on a man fatally shot north of Auckland

It follows his death in a vehicle on Wayby Station Road, just south of Wellsford on Saturday night.

Police have located what they describe as a vehicle of interest - a black Range Rover - registered KBK990.

Anyone who's seen the car, or its occupants, in the Rodney or Northland areas over the last few days, should call 105 .

Police says there's no indication the shooting is gang-related or connected to any other ongoing investigations in Auckland.
