    Five people have been injured, including two volunteer firefighters, when a portable home's verandah collapsed in rural Hawke's Bay


    Hawke's Bay Today reports those injured were helping erect a containerised home next door to Te Pohue Fire Station, about 8.30am.

    Two people are seriously injured, and three in a moderate condition.

    Posting on X, Internal Affairs Minister Brooke van Velden says her heart goes out to those hurt.
