Hazardous drinking rates across the country are down at the same time vaping has increased

Hazardous drinking rates across the country are down at the same time vaping has increased

The 2024/25 New Zealand Health Survey reveals details of our healthy and not-so-healthy habits.

One-in-six adults were classified as a hazardous drinker in the past year - down from 21.3-percent from five years ago.

However vaping rates continue to rise - with almost 12-percent of New Zealand adults now daily vapers.

That's more than triple the 3.5-percent rate in 2019/2020.
