The Reserve Bank's slashed the Official Cash Rate, and is leaving its options open on what's next

The Reserve Bank's slashed the Official Cash Rate, and is leaving its options open on what's next

It's sliced off 25 basis points - bringing the rate to 2.25 percent -- its lowest since July 2022.

Five of the Monetary Policy Committee's six members voted to cut -- expecting weak economics will push down inflation.

One voted to stay unchanged - saying previous cuts haven't yet worked through the economy.

The Central Bank's forward-projections suggest further cuts are unlikely - but that depends on how inflation and the economy track.
