Benny Blanco's mother had to barricade herself in a bathroom during a burglary at her home this week

Sandra Levin - who is Selena Gomez's mother-in-law - was alone at her house in Studio City, California when three men broke a sliding glass door at around 9:15pm on Monday (24.11.25).

As reported by ABC7, the Los Angeles Police Department said Levin heard the noise and ran upstairs, where she locked herself in a bathroom and called 911.

It's alleged that the suspects kicked down the bathroom door during the terrifying incident.

Police said Levin was unharmed, but a number of rooms were "ransacked" with items stolen.

According to NBC Los Angeles, the three men - who were wearing masks and dark clothing - had already escaped by the time police arrived on the scene.

Blanco, 37, has always been close to his mother, and in 2024 he called her his "best friend".

He told PEOPLE magazine: "My mom's my best friend.

"Every Sunday we go to the farmer's market. I cook her lunch, we swim, we gossip about stuff.

"She sends me things and is like, 'Do you think it's true?' I'm like, 'I don't even know who these two people are we're talking about.' "

The producer revealed he gets his mother "a new orchid" every year, and she's learned to take good care of the plants.

He added: "My mom loves flowers. For Mother's Day, I get her the same thing every year: I get her a new orchid.

"She's so good at taking care of them that before she moved to LA, she had a room with just like 25 of them because I would give them to her every year and she would keep them and they would never die."

He also opened up on how he has always made sure to never "fully ghost someone", because he wants to always treat people with the same respect he'd want his mother to be given.

He explained: "I completely understand if you go out on a date and the guy's being totally creepy - you should totally ghost the f*** out of him.

"But I don't want to ghost anyone. I always think whenever I'm doing anything like that, I'll think about my mom and I'll say like, 'Oh, I want to treat this person like I would treat my mom and how I'd want someone to treat my mom.' "
