Sydney Sweeney loves to explore "different versions of life" through her on-screen characters

The 28-year-old actress has enjoyed a meteoric rise in recent years, and Sydney has now revealed what she looks for in her on-screen roles.

The blonde beauty - who plays Cassie Howard in the hit HBO series Euphoria - told The Hollywood Reporter: "I think that I’ve chosen a lot of characters that I get to explore different versions of life and lose myself to."
Sydney also rubbished suggestions that her characters are often overtly sexual.
She said: "Cassie has definitely been very culturally relevant and a huge thing, so I think that’s very in the forefront of everyone’s minds. But everything since then hasn’t been [overtly sexual]. Eden wasn’t, Reality wasn’t, Americana wasn’t, White Lotus wasn’t.
"It’s just whatever people want to talk about."
Sydney plays a former professional boxer in Christy, the new sports drama movie, and the actress has been widely praised for her performance in the film.
She reflected: "I put a lot of love and hard work into this, so it feels good that people are recognising that and that the story is resonating with people."
The movie has received mixed reviews from critics, but Sydney only cares about the opinion of Christy Martin, who was America's best-known female boxer in the 1990s.
Sydney said: "I’ve always said Christy’s opinion is the only one that matters to me. I did this for her, and she loves it, so I’m good."
Sydney has enjoyed huge success in recent years - but she previously admitted that she's still "navigating" fame.
The actress - who has starred in movies such as Anyone but You, Madame Web and Immaculate - told ES Magazine in 2023: "I think I’m still navigating it on a daily basis because I want to be as authentic and genuinely open to the public and my fans as possible. And I think I am.
"I talk a lot, I’m very open and it’ll probably be to my detriment, but I don’t know how people can hide behind an image.
"At the same time, I don’t owe people answers."
