    Police are carrying out a large search for a tramper missing near Mount Huxley in the Southern Alps

    Police are carrying out a large search for a tramper missing near Mount Huxley in the Southern Alps


    20 year old Connor Purvis intended to climb the mountain on or about 30 December but still hasn't returned from his tramp.

    Police, Department of Conservation and land search and rescue teams have been searching huts and campsites in the area but have found no sign of him.

    They want to hear from anyone who has spoken to Mr Purvis anytime after December 28th.

    Conor Purvis has red hair and a handlebar moustache, and police are urging anyone with information to get in touch with them.
