A former Kiwi motorsport champion say changes to the drivers' licensing process don't go far enough in preparing young people for our roads

The practical full drivers' test is on the scrap heap - with restricted license holders under 25 now waiting 12 months before moving to their full.
A total alcohol ban applies for anyone without a full license.
But race car driver Greg Murphy says without a focus on proper driver training, our roads won't be much safer.
He says the crashes, injuries and deaths on our roads are a result of people who can't read the situation, weather conditions or don't know they're going too fast.
