Disgraced former Gloriavale leader Howard Temple has successfully appealed his two-year prison sentence, and won't spend a minute behind bars

Disgraced former Gloriavale leader Howard Temple has successfully appealed his two-year prison sentence, and won't spend a minute behind bars

The 85-year-old will instead serve home detention.

Temple pleaded guilty to sex offences against six girls and young women over two decades.

Judge Raoul Neave sentenced him to 26 months in prison at Greymouth District Court in December.

His lawyer immediately filed an appeal, calling the sentence 'manifestly excessive'.

Several sources have now confirmed - Temple's bid was successful.
