Nurse practitioners can now prescribe more medicines, under legislation passed last week

Nurse practitioners can now prescribe more medicines, under legislation passed last week

The Bill lets them directly give patients suitable treatments in their area of practice - without needing referrals.

Health Minister Simeon Brown says this will be transformative for patients - who've faced delays from restrictions he calls unnecessary.

He says this common-sense update recognises nurse practitioners' advanced skills and experience.
