A man's facing a raft of charges after attempting to carjack two motorists during an early morning dash across Auckland

A man's facing a raft of charges after attempting to carjack two motorists during an early morning dash across Auckland

He allegedly fled from Police at speed, after officers tried to pull him over around 3am in Papatoetoe.

The man continued down the South-Western Motorway before being spiked in Mt Eden.

He then allegedly attempted to carjack two separate passing vehicles, with one driver managing to reverse away safely, before Police took him into custody on Khyber Pass Road.

Police say a search of the man's vehicle located methamphetamine paraphernalia and a bat.

The man will appear in the Manukau District Court today.
