Isaac Mizrahi dec lares Gwyneth Paltrow "has the best a** in show business"

The 64-year-old fashion designer used to create clothes for the 53-year-old actress in the 1990s, and he reunited with the star in Marty Supreme, in which Isaac played her alter ego Kay Stone's publicist, Merle.

Isaac told People: "I used to make clothes for Gwyneth in the '90s. I swear to you, I remember when she used to come in for fittings.

"She would leave after things, and I'd say that girl has the most fabulous ass I've ever seen. She has the best ass in show business, I mean that.

"That's the one thing I can remember about Gwyneth. Except for the fact that she's hilarious and so good in this."

The 1950s-set ping-pong drama Marty Supreme sees Timothee Chalamet, 30, play Marty Mauser, and the film is loosely based on the real-life table tennis great Marty Reisman's journey to becoming a champion in table tennis.

Gwyneth plays Kay - a faded Hollywood actress who becomes romantically linked with Marty - in the Josh Safdie-directed movie, which Isaac loved making.

Isaac said: "You could feel that they were making something beautiful. When it started screening, people were calling me and saying, 'Darling, this movie is the best thing since Scorsese.'

"I knew it. I had this idea that [Josh] was making something career-shaping, you know?"

As well as Gwyneth, the Project Runway alum also has a connection to its 41-year-old director, Josh.

Isaac shared: "I've known him since he's a little boy. I met him at my downstairs neighbour's. He was best friends with her son. We worked together. They made these little films in 2008. I knew him as a young filmmaker."

On January 3, Timothee received the Spotlight Actor of the Year Award at the Palm Springs International Film Festival for his acclaimed performance in Marty Supreme.

Festival Chairman Nachhattar Singh Chandi said Chalamet's portrayal of Marty captures the intensity of ambition and the vulnerability of human longing, declaring it as one of 2025's most memorable performances.

Nachhattar said: "In Marty Supreme, Timothee Chalamet delivers a performance which marks a true milestone in his career.

"Within a dynamic struggle for glory, Chalamet's portrayal of Marty Mauser transforms this narrative into a deeply human story of ambition and longing.

"This is one of his finest roles to date - and one of the best standout performances of the year, sure to be celebrated throughout the awards season.

"We are honoured to present Timothee Chalamet with the Spotlight Actor of the Year Award, recognising a remarkable artist at the height of his craft."
