Credit demand is softening, as interest rates increase

Credit demand is softening, as interest rates increase

The Centrix credit indicator for June, shows consumer credit demand has fallen by 33 percent compared to the same time last year.

Business credit demand fell 13 percent, over the same time period.

Centrix says last year, the market was on fire because of high lending and low interest rates.

It says lending demand is back down to 2019 levels, and the peak is over.
