Fiordland's Milford Track is set to re-open on Monday after significant spring snow and rain caused large avalanches - that changed watercourses, damaged tracks and covered sections with debris.
The Department of Conservation has already been forced to delay it's re-opening twice.
DOC Te Anau Operations Manager John Lucas says persistent avalanche conditions coupled with unfavourable weather meant the work to reinstall some bridges wasn't possible until this week.
