George Clooney's son dressed up as Batman for Halloween - oblivious to the fact that his dad once played the superhero

The 64-year-old actor - who played the DC Comics character in the 1997 film Batman and Robin - likes it when his and 47-year-old wife Amal Clooney's eight-year-old twins Alexander and Ella do not know that their dad is an A-list celebrity.

The Jay Kelly star told US TV show Extra: "They don't understand it, which is fun, and I appreciate that they don't because it's more fun when they don't ... My son dressed up as Batman for Halloween, and I was like, 'You know I was Batman?' And he's like, 'Not really.'

"In fairness, he has no idea how right he is about that."

And Alexander likes laughing at George when he sees him on TV.

The ER actor said: "My son, if he sees anything that I'm in, like on television, he just points and laughs. They're the worst critics, my children. They find me amusing."

Elsewhere, George said he and Amal "do the best" they can with juggling parenting and their busy lives.

He told E! News: "You try to pace it so that I'm doing it, and then she's home, and then she goes, and I'm home.

"We try to mix it up a little bit."

Despite their best efforts, the Ocean's Eleven actor admitted his and Amal's parenting is "never perfect" - just like anyone else's.

George continued: "But, you know, you're never going to get it all right. No one does.

"My parents didn't. I don't know if your parents did, but you know, you go to work, too.

"So, you do the best you can."

The couple - who got married in 2014 - and their brood live in France full-time after they reportedly purchased a sprawling estate for $8.3 million in 2021.

And George feels "very lucky" to be able to bring up Alexander and Ella away from Hollywood.

Last month, he explained to Esquire: "You know, we live on a farm in France.

"A good portion of my life growing up was on a farm, and as a kid, I hated the whole idea of it.

"But now, for them, it's like - they're not on their iPads, you know? They have dinner with grown-ups and have to take their dishes in. They have a much better life."

"I was worried about raising our kids in Los Angeles, in the culture of Hollywood. I felt like they were never going to get a fair shake at life.

"France - they kind of don't give a s*** about fame. I don't want them to be walking around worried about paparazzi.

"I don't want them being compared to somebody else's famous kids."
