Gwyneth Paltrow's Oscars win "felt like something immense"

The 53-year-old star won the Academy Award for Best Actress for her performance in Shakespeare in Love, the 1998 romantic-comedy movie, and Gwyneth still remembers the success as a turning point in her life.

Speaking to Jacob Elordi for Variety, Gwyneth shared: "It felt like something immense had happened. There was this massive energetic shift, and it was very overwhelming. I was only 26.
"If I could go back and talk to myself at that age, I would just say, 'Take your time.' Just really get in touch with who you are to the greatest extent possible, and make decisions from that place. Slow down and work with great people, and don’t beat yourself up so much along the way."
Gwyneth enjoyed huge success early in her career, but she then stepped away from Hollywood in order to build her lifestyle brand, Goop.
Gwyneth - who has returned to the movie business to star in Marty Supreme - admits that the industry has changed markedly in the last 30 years.
She said: "It’s changed quite a bit, and the business models have changed and the way it’s all commercialised."
Meanwhile, Gwyneth previously observed that social media can be "incredibly anxiety-provoking".
The actress acknowledges that it can be "difficult" to navigate social media platforms - but Gwyneth still isn't afraid to speak her mind online.
The award-winning star - who has more than nine million Instagram followers - told Sky News: "I can't fake it.
"If I'm going to go on there, I'm going to be myself and I'm going to be honest. That's me, for better or worse. I think I'm a very authentic person, one way or the other. So, you know, that's my style."
Gwyneth stepped back from the movie business in recent years to focus on Goop. However, she always remained open to returning to the film industry.
She said: "With my job as CEO at Goop, it takes up all of my time. But who knows? I'm not actively pursuing it. I am very busy with my day job, but I've learned enough not to say never."
