A bushfire is raging about 200 kilometres southeast of Perth, though nearby residents are no longer being told to leave their homes.
It's burned through more than 4,000 hectares and caused significant damage to the Newmont Boddington goldmine
To the north-east: a cyclone and flood watch has been issued for parts of Queensland and the Northern Territory.
The Gulf Coast in particular is expecting up to 500 millimetres of rain.
