    A gang of thieves has made off with tens of millions of euros - after drilling into a German bank vault in a daring holiday heist


    The robbers broke into more than 3-thousand safety deposit boxes at a Sparkasse Bank in western Germany.

    They absconded with an estimated 30-million euros in cash and valuables- about 60-million New Zealand dollars.

    The robbery was only discovered on Monday, after a fire alarm was triggered.
