Work starts tonight on a temporary repair to the damaged strut on Auckland's Harbour Bridge

Work starts tonight on a temporary repair to the damaged strut on Auckland's Harbour Bridge

It means NO southbound travel will be possible on the Harbour Bridge from 9pm until 5am, until the repair's complete.

The southbound clip-on lanes will be closed from 9pm to 5am tonight, and possibly tomorrow night as well.

The Esmonde Rd, Onewa Rd and Hobson St onramps will be closed - with the motorway southbound closed between Esmonde Rd and Hobson St.

NZTA says the temporary repair will let two centre lanes open later this week .... while work continues on a permanent solution.
