A Southland town hall has an enormous hole left by a ute crashing through it last night

Police rushed to Orawia town hall, west of Gore, about 11pm.

The ute's sole occupant was taken to hospital but has since been discharged.

Southland District Council's Mark Day says they'll make a decision on repairs in the future.
