    Bookstores are curbing retail trends, with demand on the rise


    Nielsen BookData shows sales in August increased by three percent, compared to the month prior.

    Retail sales overall rose by 0.2 percent in the same timeframe.

    Booksellers New Zealand association manager, Renee Rowland, says the importance of books were reinforced during Covid.

    She says bookstores are evolving, and finding new ways to be important.
