Holly Madison has claimed Pamela Anderson was standoffish with the other Playboy Bunnies in the company of Hugh Hefner

The 44-year-old author dated the late Playboy founder from 2001 to 2008, and though she is adamant she has no bad blood with Pamela, 57, she found it "so strange" when she allegedly didn't acknowledge the other girls at the Playboy Mansion whenever she was with Hefner

Speaking on her and Bridget Marquardt's 'Girls Next Level' podcast, she said: "Interacting with Pam in the beginning was a little awkward.

"It's not that Pam wasn't nice. It was just that she would do this weird thing where she'd always come up to Hef wherever she would run into him. She'd fawn all over him and he's surrounded by all these girls."

She recalled: "She would act like we did not exist on any level in such a weird way.

"It was so strange to me and the only reason I'm bringing this up is because I remember feeling like it was so strange."

However, Holly said the 'Baywatch' star was less "awkward" toward the end.

She continued: "I wondered what is that all about and I still kind of wonder because it would change later on. Like she would acknowledge me a little bit toward the very end."

Holly insists she has always looked up to Pamela - who was a favourite of Hefner's - and suggested that she might have had a bad experience talking with one of his girlfriends that made her act that way around them, or that fame had affected her.

She said: "I'm a fan of hers.

"But oftentimes, when I'm talking about mansion experiences, I'll talk about meeting people like Paris Hilton and how she was so nice and how she would talk to each of us girls like we were equals."

Holly concluded: "Maybe she was at such a weird level of fame where people always wanted something from her that she shouldn't feel comfortable talking to people, or maybe she had an experience where she tried to talk to Hef's girlfriends before and it went really poorly.

"I don't know what it was, but it was so distinct and weird."

The publishing mogul died in 2017 at the age of 91.

He was married to Playboy Playmate Crystal Hefner, 38, from 2012 until his death.
