It's still not known where the Prime Minister will be on Waitangi

It's still not known where the Prime Minister will be on Waitangi

Last year, Christopher Luxon confirmed he wouldn't attend Waitangi Treaty Grounds events on Waitangi Day and has chosen to take part in commemorating it elsewhere.

Senior representatives of the government will still attend events.

Herald political reporter Jamie Ensor says official confirmation on where the Prime Minister is still to come.

He says it's expected to be somewhere in the South Island.
