    Lower Hutt Mayor Campbell Barry joined skate-boarders for the official opening of a new state-of-the-art skate park over the weekend


    The new facility at Avalon Park was completed late last year and has held a community activation day..

    It's name, Motutawa Skatepark, was gifted by Iwi.

    It's replaced the former Melling skate park and was funded by the NZ Transport Agency as part of the Melling transport improvements.
