Research could be the key for shoppers who actually want to get a deal this Black Friday weekend

Consumer NZ has tracked 10 products across four major retailers over the past three months.

It's found prices have been the same or lower during that period than during Black Friday sales.

Consumer NZ Head of Advocacy and Research, Gemma Rasmussen says people should arm themselves with the proper information.

She says people can use online comparison tools like PriceSpy to check if they're really getting a deal.
