Jake Paul has revealed the secrets behind his training regime and weight gain ahead of his fight against Anthony Joshua

'The Problem Child' announced he would be facing former two-time world heavyweight champion Joshua after his scheduled bout with WBA lightweight champion Gervonta 'Tank' Davis fell through in November.

The rules for the boxing match include a stipulation that Joshua, 36, cannot be heavier than 245lbs when he weighs in ahead of the bout.

Jake is considered to be a cruiserweight, walking around at approximately 200lbs, and he is bulking up to face the British heavyweight icon by eating pasta and cutting down his cardio exercise.

Speaking to The Schmo, he said: "I started eating more pasta, and gaining weight.

"Less running, more weightlifting, bench press, squats - I feel like an NFL player, getting ready to take on the big guys.

"Bringing in heavyweights who we've had to buy two commercial airline seats for because they can't sit in one seat.

"Sparring massive, massive guys, and just believing in myself. That's all that matters.

"I'm ready to fight at all times - this is what we do it for these big moments.

"You don't get paid for sparring, you don't get paid for hitting the gym.

"I want the big fights and the best people."

Jake's plan after the Joshua fight is to fight for a cruiserweight world title, calling out names in the sport such as Canelo Alvarez and Terence Crawford.

The 28-year-old social media influencer said: "Those are the names, man, but I think Joshua and Canelo are probably two of the biggest names I could possibly take on in this sport right now.

Joshua's promoter Eddie Hearn recently claimed he had lied to Paul's promoter Nakisa Bidarian about his fighter's current weight before agreeing to the unlikely bout.

Hearn said: "I spoke to [Joshua], and he was sitting at 265 pounds or something like that. I think I told Nakisa that he was 290 pounds or something like that.

"I said I'm not interested in balloon gloves and two-minute rounds, but he said it was a real fight. I asked if it was 10 rounds or eight rounds, they said fine to eight.

"They said, 'The only thing is that Jake will weigh about 220 pounds, and we want AJ to come down in weight.'

"He's a heavyweight and hasn't cut weight before. They said, 'Look, we're not being funny and it's not that we need an advantage, but we need you to have some disadvantage.'"

Jake vs Joshua takes place on December 19 at the Kaseya Centre in Miami, Florida.
