The search for two climbers, overdue to return from Aoraki Mount Cook - has been postponed as weather conditions deteriorate

It comes as two bodies were recovered from Fiordland's Sabre Peak - after a pair were reported missing on Saturday night.

Mountain Safety Council's Chief Executive Mike Daisley says it's a harsh reminder of the risks of these alpine environments.

He says Sabre Peak and Aoraki Mount Cook are popular places for climbers - but they're challenging and any small mistake can have severe consequences.
