The sister of a man who died in a shooting early yesterday at Waitarere Beach - says her brother had messaged her half an hour before

The 60-year-old deceased is understood to be Benjamin Timmins, and a 46-year-old woman and men aged 17 and 21 are critically injured.

A person at the property was due in court yesterday - over a family harm event.

Timmins' sister says her brother was working through court documents in the days before his death.

His body has been removed this afternoon and will undergo a post-mortem.
