Olivia Dean described herself as the "product of bravery" after winning the Best New Artist Grammy

The 26-year-old singer - who released her second studio album, The Art of Loving, in 2025 - was visibly overcome with emotion after winning the first Grammy Award of her career.

Speaking on stage at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles on Sunday (01.02.26), she said: "I never really imagined that I would be up here, let alone nominated. So thank you so much.

"I just want to say that an artist is really nothing without their team. Emily, my best friend, my manager, we've been doing this for 10 years. So this is for you, too, my family."

The London-born star subsequently paid a glowing tribute to her family.

The Man I Need hitmaker - whose grandmother emigrated to the UK from Guyana at the age of 18 - said: "I guess I want to say I'm up here as a granddaughter of an immigrant. I wouldn't be here - I'm a product of bravery, and I think those people deserve to be celebrated. We're nothing without each other. Thank you so much."

Olivia overcame competition from the likes of KATSEYE, The Marias, Addison Rae, Sombr, Leon Thomas, Alex Warren and Lola Young to win the coveted accolade.

Olivia previously revealed that The Art Of Loving was inspired by Sex And The City character Carrie Bradshaw.

The chart-topping star confessed that the fictional character, played by Sarah Jessica Parker, served as a big inspiration for her album.

Olivia - who released the hit record in September 2025 - told The Sun on Sunday newspaper's Bizarre column: "I'd never seen Sex And The City before, and started watching it from the beginning. I have been living my Carrie moment - her influence will be there."

Olivia also shared that one particular song focuses on relationship struggles.

She said: "Something In Between is about when you are between being with somebody and not, and you are like, 'I don't want to just have you in my life, like now we are not supposed to talk?'"
