The Armed Offenders Squad has been working in Auckland's Papakura today, after a man was shot this morning

28 February 2026

Police say officers in the Clevedon Road area heard shots shortly before 11.30, then came across a man with a gunshot injury.

He was taken to hospital in a moderate condition.

Officers - including the AOS - have been conducting enquiries at a Grove Road address this afternoon.

Cordons have been lifted, with no arrests made so far.

Police believe the victim and offenders know eachother, and there is no risk to the wider community.
