Tourism spending in New Zealand has hit 46.6 billion dollars, up 3.3 percent on last year

International visitors spent 18.1 billion dollars - a seven percent jump - and domestic travellers spent 28.5 billion, up just one percent.
International tourism now makes up 17 percent of New Zealand's total exports, slightly down on last year.
Meanwhile, international students studying for less than a year spent five percent more on the year before.
Overall tourism continues to account for 7.7 percent of GDP, unchanged from 2024.
