A bus driver has been convicted over a crash which left a teenage girl with no hands

A tour bus - which had 23 Chinese tourists on board - tipped on its side near Queenstown in January.

Two passengers were seriously injured - with one woman losing an arm and a teenager losing both hands.

32-year-old Liang Fang of Christchurch pleaded guilty to careless driving causing injury.

The Otago Daily Times reports he was sentenced to 200 hours community work, and disqualified from driving for 9 months.

Fang also has to pay nine-thousand-dollars to the two most injured passengers.
