Ciara says giving birth with a mask on was “crazy”

The 35-year-old singer welcomed her son Win into the world back in July, and has said she had to wear a face mask whilst in labour because her obstetrician wasn’t “playing any games” when it came to the coronavirus pandemic

Speaking to Self magazine, she said: “My obstetrician, who’s delivered all my babies, was not playing any games about this COVID. I literally made my first push with Win and then he was like, ‘She needs a mask on. Get a mask on.’ It happened so fast, so I still had my mask [down].

“But he was like, ‘Oh, no, no. She gonna put that mask on.’ My mask was pretty good. I could still breathe alright through it, so that was good. But it was like, ‘Wow. This is crazy. I’m having to deliver a baby with a mask. What in the world?’”

Ciara – who has Win, as well as three-year-old daughter Sienna with her husband Russell Wilson, and has six-year-old son Future Zahir with her ex-partner Future – isn’t the only star to have given birth whilst wearing a mask.

Last month, Sophie Turner slammed those who refuse to wear face coverings by opening up on her own experience with wearing a mask.

The ‘Game of Thrones’ star – who welcomed a daughter named Willa with her husband Joe Jonas over the summer – said on social media at the time: “If I can wear a mask while I give birth, you can wear a mask at Walmart. And that’s the tea.”

Meanwhile, Ciara recently revealed she’s managed to shed an impressive 28 pounds since welcoming her son five months ago.

She captioned a selfie of her new pink hairdo on Instagram: "Super Proud of where I am starting off 2021! Down 28 pounds thanks to @WW!! This journey has been easy, stress free and fun! Especially juggling mommy life, work life, exercise, etc! The WW app has been a game changer! 20 more lbs to go!

    “IT WORKS, join me!! ww.com/ciara.

“Let’s go after all we want this year!
